Anonymization is a data protection technique used to irreversibly remove or obscure identifying information from a dataset, making it impossible to link the data back to the original individual. Unlike pseudonymization, which replaces identifying information with artificial identifiers or pseudonyms, anonymization ensures that the data cannot be traced back to specific individuals, even with additional information or decryption keys.
