Data Protection Principles

The data protection principles are described in article 5 of the GDPR. They should serve as a general guidance through all data protection encounters. The seven data protection principles are:

1. Lawfulness, fairness and transparency
2. Purpose limitation
3. Data minimization
4. Accuracy
5. Storage limitation
6. Integrity and confidentiality
7. Accountability
